NHS Primary Care Trust - Health services for school-aged children

School nurses and doctors care for children in all mainstream and special schools in the borough, working closely with teachers and parents to help each child to have a healthy school life and reach their full learning potential. The nurses run a term-time advice line on 020 8655 3579.

NHS Primary Care Trust - Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS)

The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (or PALS as it is known) will listen to comments and suggestions and take action to deal with concerns. It aims to sort out any problems quickly before they become cause for complaint.

PALS also gives:

Advice and support when you don't know where to turn.

Full details of NHS services - including how to find a GP or dentist.

Information on diseases and conditions and voluntary organisations and self-help groups.

The PALS office is at 12-18  Lennard Road, Croydon CR9 2RS and is open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm. Please call in, or alternatively contact us by telephone on 020 8680 2008 ext 282 or by email: pals@croydonpct.nhs.uk

If you do wish to make a formal complaint about the PCT or any of its services, PALS will advise you how to go about it.

There is a separate PALS for advice, information and concerns about services provided by Mayday Healthcare NHS Trust, available on 020 8401 3210.

NHS Primary Care Trust - Croydon NHS advocacy and interpreting services

Everyone should have equal access to health services. For Croydon residents with language needs, the NHS provides comprehensive and professional interpreting services either over the telephone or in person, including British Sign Language. If you or a member of your family or friend need this service, please let staff know and they will make the necessary arrangements.

In addition, NHS Direct - available 24 hours a day on 0845 4647 - can provide confidential interpreters in many languages, within minutes of a call. All NHS Direct need to know is the language you speak and then an interpreter will be connected to the line.
